George Carl Ptasick, 83, of Edinboro, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born in Tarentum, PA on June 3, 1927. Son of the late Karl and Marie Kalina Ptasick.
George served in the Army during WWII. During the time he served he was recruited into the C.I.A.
He owned and operated George C. Ptasick Jewelry in Edinboro for 48 years. George was very involved in the community and his church.
He is preceded in death by his sister Nancy Hazlett.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years Patricia Feldmiller Ptasick, of Edinboro; his four daughters, Tina Burket of DE; Theresa Banks and her husband Jay of MD; Tricia Ptasick of Edinboro and Jean Niederberger and her husband Jack of Pittsburgh; also eight grandchildren, Breanna, Carolyn, Ben and Colleen Burket; Karl Banks; Carrie, Mathew and Leslie Niederberger.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will be held at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
