Gene Elaine Sheets, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Westbury United Methodist Community Nursing Home. She was born on October 17, 1916. Daughter of the late I.R. and Emma Weber St. John.
Gene was a past member of Culbertson Hill Country Club and Holiday Acres Golf Course. She enjoyed sailing, car rallies and golfing. Gene was also a past member of Auto Sports Club of Warren. She took part in the Fort Leboeuf American Legion Auxiliary post 285, and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dale Sheets; and her brother Leon “Duke” St. John.
Survivors include, her son Thomas R. Sawyer and his wife Jane of NY; her dear friend Susan Jones and her husband Paul of GA; her granddaughter Deborah Sawyer and five great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie St., Edinboro, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:30 p.m..
Burial will be at Edinboro Cemetery.
