McKEAN – Fred Jacob Zessinger, 85, of Edinboro, formerly of Zessinger Road, McKean, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at the Edinboro Manor. He was born in McKean on December 18, 1924. Son of the late Charles and Bertha Shaffer Zessinger.
Fred was a farmer his entire life, and also worked at the Penn Brass and Copper for 39 years. He had a deep passion for his family and church and was an avid fan of General McLane and Edinboro University sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his brother Edward C. Zessinger, in 1986.
Survivors include two nieces, Lorraine Hayes and her husband Gary of Edinboro; and Karen Culver and her husband Bob of Martinsville, IN; also many great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will be held there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Droll officiating.
Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.
