Florence G. Marszalek, 93, formerly of Edinboro, died December 1, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville. She was born in McKeesport, PA on April 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Walter and Victoria Lechtanski.
Florence loved to cook, bake and sew. She also enjoyed bowling, dancing the polka and playing bingo at the Franklin Township Fire Hall with her husband, John.
She was a long time employee of Sears, retiring in 1984 after 18 years of service. She was also a bookkeeper at several agencies, including Booth Motor Company in McKeesport, where she met her husband, John, who came in every week to make his payment on the day he knew she was working.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro, the Edinboro Senior Citizens Group and the Polish National Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Marszalek; a daughter, Janet; brother, Raymond Lechtanski; a sister, Genevieve Faski; a grandson, Andrew and a great granddaughter, Aria.
Survivors include her son, John (Marilyn) Marszalek; three granddaughters, Lisa (Christian) Wright, of Dallas, TX, Pamela (Adam) Mikulcik, of Edinboro, and Kristyn (Michael) Sornat, of Nashville, TN; also nine great grandchildren, David, Juliet, Beauen, Theo, Kadence, Brooks, Everett, Joey and Epic.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, Decmeber 20, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro.
