Eugene E. “Gene” Lewandowski, 68, of Edinboro, died at home on Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was born in Erie on November 29, 1950, the son of the late Edward and Virginia Lewandowski.
Gene graduated from General McLane High School and went on to serve in the Army. He had been a foreman at Erie Malleable Iron for 38 years and spent most of his life working the family farm. He enjoyed farming, especially combining, and going to the auctions with family and friends. He also loved Nascar Racing and Pittsburgh Steelers
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lewandowski; a sister, Carol Lewandowski; a niece, Sunni Marie Dunlap; and a close cousin, Stanley Romonosky.
Survivors include a brother, Robert (Darlene) Lewandowski; a sister, Kathy (Dan) Netzler; a sister-in-law, Sue Lewandowski; his godson, Philip Dunlap; two nephews, Brian Lewandowski and John Gosik; and a niece, Jessica Key.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Church at 11:00 a.m.
