Elena Mae Billings Skelton, 85, of Edinboro died peacefully Saturday, January 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Elena Mae was born in Edinboro on May 14, 1924, the daughter of the late Arden and Norma Meacham Billings.
Elena Mae and her husband worked as a team on the family dairy farm raising their eight children.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian in 1988; a granddaughter, Vicki Woods in 2006; and her two brothers, Roscoe in 1988 and Eugene in 1945.
Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, James Skelton; and her seven children, Judy Skelton, Donna (Carl) Smith, Bobbi (Sonny) Frick, Dennis (Helen) Skelton, Terry (Trish) Skelton, Woodette (Philip) Sanders, all of Edinboro, and Cindy (Philip) Sowry of Texas. She was the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also, her faithful caregiver, Ann Walsh. She will be sadly missed by all.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. until the time of a prayer service at 8:30 with Rev. John Worrell officiating.
Burial will be in Edinboro Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Edinboro Vol. Fire Department, 125 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA 16412 or a charity of your choice.
