Dorothy A. Benedict, 93 of Robinson Township, Pa, died Thursday, January 19, 2017.
Born November 11, 1923 in Cranesville, Pa, she was the daughter of John and Mary Pavolko (Huya).
Dorothy was a homemaker and mother of five (5) sons and lived in the same home in Robinson Township since 1954. One son, Damon died in 2009.
Dorothy was a Registered Nurse and obtained her School of Nursing RN Degree from Meadville City Hospital on September 10, 1944.
She was the wife of Andy J. Benedict, WWII B-24 Bomber Pilot who died in 2015, with a marriage of over 70 years.
She had one brother, George Pavolko .
Dorothy is survived by sons; Andy J. (Margaret), Michael A. (Vicki), George J. and Jon A. Benedict; four grandchildren, Derek (Lindsay), Max (Whitney), Haley (Nick) Heslip and Dr. Megan Benedict (Dr. Ryan Melvin); eight great grandchildren, Milana, Natalia, Aria, Jack, Dominic Benedict; Evelyn, Audrey and Nathan Heslip.
With five (5) boys, Dorothy was active at the Holy Trinity School and Parish, Montour School district, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and the Robinson Twp. boys baseball league.
She was also an Election Judge for many years at Robinson Twp district 6.
Friends will be received at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, Pa 16412 from 3 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
A short service will be conducted there on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10:00 am with Fr. Philip Oriole officiating.
Burial will be at St. James Cemetery, Crossingville, Pa. Memorials may be made to an organization of your choice in Dorothy's name.
