Donald A. Marzka, 90, of Mill Village, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Cambridge Springs on Oct. 20, 1922, the son of the late Charles A. and Velma (Dyne) Marzka.
Donald was a 1940 graduate of Rockdale High School. He retired in 1984 from the Parker White Metal Co. (now PHB) in Fairview after working for 38 years. He was very active in Mill Village, serving on the Borough Council, the Fort LeBouef School Board, as a life member and past Fire Chief of the Mill Village Vol. Fire Dept., and he taught First Aid for the American Red Cross for 15 years.
Don attended Mill Village Presbyterian Church and later the Draketown Christian Church in Edinboro. After he retired, Don and his loving wife would travel the country, making it to 48 states. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Canada and surrounding areas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen R. (Kerr) Marzka in 2005; two daughters, Lois Norr in 2003 and Linda MacBlain in 2012; three brothers Gerald in 2009, George in 1985, and Lorence in 1992; and a sister Lenora in 2005.
Survivors include his two sons, Richard Marzka and his wife Jody, of, Edinboro, and Milton Marzka and his wife, Linda, of Las Vegas; also 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Kennedy officiating.
