Burton was greeted in heaven today by his Lord and Savior along with his dear wife Jean of 51 years and granddaughter Deborah who both preceded him in death. The son of William and Ruth (Griffen) Warnshuis, he was born in Findley Lake, NY and as a young boy moved to Edinboro, PA.  He was a loving dad of two daughters, Kay Warnshuis of Tampa, FL, who provided him a wonderful loving home for the last 12 years, Linda Warnshuis of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and one son Richard/Dick (Linda Mae) Warnshuis of Erie, PA.  He was also the proud grandfather of Mark (Cheryl), John (Jeanette) and James (Jill) and great grandfather of Rachel, Rebecca, Sara, Hannah, Aleah, Jacob, Elizabeth, James, Caitlin, Carissa, Jacob, Mark and David; and extended family, Dick and Janice Dahlquist and Trudy Lockwood. He will be remembered as someone who loved his family and was a good friend and neighbor.
He worked for General Electric before he enlisted in the Navy to serve his country during World War II.  Upon discharge he returned to the family dairy farm in Edinboro, PA, established his own milk route business, drove a bulk milk tank route for Paul Skelton and ended his trucking career with Edinboro Redi-Mix Concrete.  He continued to work with his son and grandson on the farm until his retirement.  During his lifetime Burton was also an active and faithful member of the Edinboro Baptist Church, Garden Heights Baptist Church (Erie) and Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie St., Edinboro, PA.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Garden Heights Baptist Church, Erie, PA on Saturday at 4 p.m.  A private interment service for the family will be held at Edinboro Cemetery.
