Barnett Jarvis

Barnett Robert Jarvis, 89, of Edinboro, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital.  He was born in Detroit, MI on August 25, 1924, the son of the late John and Rebecca Goldstein Jarvis.

Before his retirement Mr. Jarvis was a security guard for Securicor UK.  Before that he worked as a manager at British Leyland Trucks.

He served in the US Navy as a gunner's mate third class for four years during WWII and was a Purple Heart and Silver Star recipient.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Dorothy Jarvis, and a sister, Shirley Jarvis.

Survivors include a son, Robert Jarvis, also a grandson, Kieran Jarvis.

The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie St., Edinboro, PA 16412, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
