Barbara Ann (Haenel) MacLeod, 74, of Edinboro, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at UPMC Hamot, surrounded by her family, after a three year battle with leukemia. She was born in Silver Creek, NY on June 22, 1941, the daughter of the late Fred and Rita (Schubauer) Haenel. On June 3, 1961, she married the late Jean Claude MacLeod who died August 14, 2015.
She was a graduate of Immaculata High School in 1958.
She worked at General McLane High School as an secretary for many years. She was a member of Town and Country Garden Club, the Edinboro Sewing Guild, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She had been a member and Eucharistic Minister of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. In addition to her love of gardening, sewing and quilting, she adored her family.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Haenel, and a sister, Nancy Gian and a sister-in-law, LaVerne Haenel.
Survivors include four children; Barbara Heim (David); Michelle Paolella (John); Maureen Czerwinski (Jay Renick), John MacLeod (Tina); three grandchildren; Alyssa and AJ Paolella, and Tyler Czerwinski; a sister, Karen Trembath (Tom); a brother, Charles Haenel; many nieces and nephews; very dear friends, Pat Gorton and Kathy Szymanowski; and her beloved dog, Zoey.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Hoffman officiating.
Burial will be in Edinboro Cemetery.
