Anna Mary Ondrey

April 27, 1915 — August 20, 2011

Anna Mary (Ann) Musser Ondrey, 96, a longtime resident of Edinboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA.  She was born in  State College, PA to the late Harry N. and Edna Leech Musser.
Ann was a graduate of State College High School and The Altoona School of Commerce.  Ann married her husband Joe in 1939  and moved to Edinboro, PA in 1948 where they raised six children.
Ann bowled for over 50 years and held offices in the Edinboro Women's League and the Senior Citizen's League.  She was a member of the Erie Women's Bowling Association Board of Directors for 25 years. She was a delegate to the National and State Bowling Tournaments for 25 years.  She was inducted into the Erie Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in September 1998.
Ann coached Edinboro's Jr. Bowlers for 11 years and took them to the 1975 State Championship.
She was a founding member of Our Lady of the Lake Church where she was an officer in the Altar Rosary Society and she sang in the church choir.
Ann belonged to the Edinboro Senior Citizens, a past officer of the Edinboro Grange and was a member of the Shadbush Club.  She was an avid golfer and belonged to several golf leagues.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe, of 57 years; her sons, Joseph Ondrey, Jr. and John “Jack” Ondrey, her brother John Musser, and sister Deborah Gentzel.
Ann will be greatly missed by her daughter Mary Ann McKeegan and her husband Paul of Memphis, TN, sons Jeffrey Ondrey and his wife Sali of Jamestown, NY, Gerald “Jerry” Ondrey and his wife Ursula of Frankfurt, Germany, Harry “Jim” Ondrey of Erie and daughter-in-law, Shirley Ondrey of Madeira Beach, FL.  She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m..  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church at 10:00 a.m..
